Gaston Acurio will be given a prize in Lima and today there will be a gala dinner in Amsterdam, where Peruvian gastronomy will be the star.
He will receive the Prince Claus Prize, given since 1997, to honor his work promoting our gastronomy worldwide.
The gala ceremony in Lima is scheduled for Dec. 17 at the Netherlands Embassy, but the event in the Netherlands will be held on Dec. 16, with Queen Beatrix, her family and some 600 guests tasting a delicious Peruvian dinner.
The guests will be offered ceviche, causa, anticuchos, sopa de cangrejo, lomo saltado with tacu tacu and seco de cordero, along the chicha morada and pisco sour.
The event "Culinary Adventure of Holland and Perú" was previously held with the cooperation of Peruvian Embassy in Holland, PromPeru, Prince Claus Foundation, Group Verhaaf Party Catering of Holland and Gastón Acurio’s La Macha Corporation.
Dutch chef Gerard Vijverberg came to Peru to be trained by Acurio and his team on how to prepare Peruvian dishes; he will be in charge of the event’s food, under the supervision of Victoriano Lopez, right hand of chef Acurio.
