First, the Peruvian Brescia group purchased the Chilean cement company Lafarge with an investment of US $555 million dollars. Now, Peru’s Graña & Montero is evaluating important investments in Chile, in the energy and highway sectors.

According to the Chilean newspaper Diario Financiero, Graña & Montero has already pre-qualified for the bid on a US $200 million road project in Coquimbo.

For this bid, Graña & Montero has joined a consortium along with Bitumix, a Chilean asphalts firm, and the construction companies Trébol and Agua Santa.

The bid has so far attracted seven competitors, and the winner will rehabilitate and do conservation works in 468 km of roads between Ovalle and Coquimbo.
