Peru will have a leading role during the Universal Expo Shanghai 2010, with a futuristic style pavilion that will showcase how pre-columbian cities used to be and how Andean cities are now, according to Peru’s Ambassador to China, Harold Forsyth, pictured here.
Forsyth received the symbolic key of the Peruvian pavilion, and the preparation and decoration works to get the pavilion ready will start tomorrow; they are expected to end by April 2010, 10 days before the official opening.
Forsyth highlighted the special interest that President Alan Garcia has regarding to Peru’s participation, since this is going to be one of the biggest Expos in history: 70 million visitors are expected.
According to Forsyth, Peru will build a restaurant, with room for 120 people, to showcase Peruvian cuisine, one of the most diverse in the world.
