Marriott to open two more hotels in Peru

U.S. hotel chain Marriott International will open two Courtyard by Marriott hotels in Peru over the next 2 years, announced Peruvian company Inversiones La Rioja.

“Marriott will continue to expand in Peru, that is why one of the main goals in the medium term is to open 2 Courtyard hotels catering primarily towards business travelers who arrive in the country,” said Inversiones La Rioja’s president Alfonso Brazzini.

Brazzini pointed that one hotel will be built in Lima’s San Isidro district and the other in Trujillo in La Libertad region, northern Peru.

“The estimated investment for each project will be over US$20 million. Each four-star hotel will have between 120 and 150 rooms,” he said.

Introduced more than 20 years ago, the Courtyard by Marriott brand is now Marriott’s largest brand with almost 800 properties worldwide and ranks as the 13th largest lodging brand in the world.
