Machu Picchu citadel would probably be reopened for tourism starting April 1, according to the estimates of Minister Martín Perez.
He said that the drop in the levels of the Vilcanota river waters is making easier to start the works for repairing the railway.
Perez also thanked all Peruvians for the support that they are giving to the campaign “Cusco at half price” that the government launched last week.
The campaign includes discounts up to 50 percent on the prices of plane tickets, hotels and, tours in Cusco.
