At present, the field hospital that Peru sent to Concepción, the city most affected by massive Chile’s earthquake on February 27 , has performed more than 1,000 medical attentions and 20 surgeries, reports Carlos Malpica, representative of Peru’s Health Ministry.
He said that the most common procedures were leg and ankle surgeries and cleaning of wounds.
Malpica remarked that Chilean people has shown their feelings of acceptance and gratitude from the patients all the time
“Actually we were amongst the first field hospitals that arrived, and we expect to be here for two months, with the support of the Navy for security issues,” explained Malpica.
