Thunderbird Hotel Chain sold its Pardo Hotel to San Martin de Porres University (USMP) for US$ 8.4 million, report TNews and Semana Económica.
According to Tom Mraz, Thunderbird General Manager in Peru, the hotel’s administration and managemente will continue in charge of Thunderbird for another six months, in order to teach their expertise to the USMP staff, so that they can take complete control aftwewards.
In addition, Raúl Bao, Head of San Martin University, told the press that this purchase was an increase of the USMP’s properties, that will be useful “to complement and improve the learning processes of our students.”
Bao does not rule out the possibility of purchasing more hotels.
