Peru: young champion of Mathematics admitted in three US universitiesPeruvian 18-year old student Cesar Cuenca Lucero, world champion of Mathematics and winner of three international maths competitions, was admitted by three american universities; California Institute Of Technology CALTECH, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Leland Stanford Junior University, also known as Stanford University.

Cuenca and his mother are traveling to Boston today, after an invitation made by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, to visit the facilities since classes start on September.

Congresswoman Cenaida Uribe, member of the Committe of Educational Affairs at Peru’s Congress, says that “this is an example for all of our youngsters.”

Rosa Lucero, Cuenca’s mother, thanked the recognition and rewards on behalf of Peruvian Congress, since it motivated he son reach such important academic goals.
