Peru’s national ports company authorized to select business partners

Peru’s National Company of Ports, in charge of managing all ports nationwide, was authorized to select, without calling for bids, the private investor to be its strategic partner in the development of the ports under its administration.

Therefore, the Transports Ministry issued a supreme decree, printed today in El Peruano official gazette, that modifies the Law of the Ports System, in order to to allow this “in case it becomes necessary.”

“We are just implementing an alternative that was allowed by this law, but that had not been issued clear rules yet,” said Minister Enrique Cornejo to El Comercio.
