Alicorp, the Peruvian firm specialized in massive consumption products, reported that its profits rose sevenfold during the first quarter of 2010, due to the fact that both demand and prices recovered after the international financial crisis.
Alicorp’s consolidated profits reached S/. 79.3 million (some US $27.9 million) between Jan-March, compared to the same period last year when the profits worth S/. 11.4 million, according to a press release.
The firm, that exports to more than 15 countries, manufactures and distributes since products ranging from cleaning to foods and even pet foods.
However, net sales totaled S/. 877.8 million, compared to the S/. 897.9 million registered in the same period last year.
