Peru: Cineplanet to invest US $6 million in five new movie theater complexesLocal movie theater chain Cineplanet, owned by Interbank Group, is planning to have another five complexes in Peru from during 2011, said its General Manager Fernando Soriano.

“We will open a cinema in Santa Clara, at Real Plaza Shopping Center, in an area of 2,100 square meter and with no competition nearby,” Soriano told Andina News agency.

He explained that total investment for this project, that will have six theaters (one of them for 3D projections), will reach US $2.5 million,

The other projects may need more than US $3.5 million, since they could have between six and eight theaters each.

Cineplanet seeks for areas that do not have movie theater complexes yet, and it is currently interested in developing projects in Lima, Tacna, Cusco, Juliaca (Puno) and Chimbote (Ancash).
