Peru: Farmers from Echarate, Cusco, search for new markets abroadPeru’s Exporters Association ADEX will work to boost exports of coffee, cocoa, achiote and honey bee produced in Echarate, a Cusco district, to Brazil, US, UK and Germany, under the terms of an agreement just signeed with those producers.

Juan Varilias Velásquez, from Adex, said that Echarate has a great production potential, so they are focusing in finding new markets and how to enter them.

The agreement would benefit some 10,000 farmers, that could export some US $49 million in five years.

Reportedly, Echarate currently has more than 100 productive projects due to efforts of its local government, with support from the Camisea consortium, specially by the company Sonatrach.
