The President of Honduras, Porfirio Lobo Sosa, starts today an official visit to Peru as a part of his first Latin American tour after taking office Jan. 27.
Lobo, who will stay in Peru for two days, arrives in Lima after visiting Colombia, where he was welcome by his counterpart Álvaro Uribe.
President Lobo will sign several agreements with President Alan Garcia, like the Cooperation on Production, Prevention of Consumption, Rehabilitation, Control of Illicit Drugs Trafficking and related offences, among other agreements.
The presidents will also promote the creation of new cooperation agreements in areas such as decentralization, security and environment.
The leader of the Nationalist Party, Ollanta Humala, questioned President Garcia’s decision of receiving Lobo, who was elected last January, after the elections celebrated before former President Manuel Zelaya was removed.
