Peruvian Finance Minister, Mercedes Aráoz, said that it is not time yet to decide on a possible presidential candidacy.
She also thanked the public declarations from some conspicuous members of the ruling party, who endorsed her probable candidacy.
She clarified that by now she is focusing in her responsibilities as a state minister and in helping President Garcia in maintaining the current economical policy.
“He knows I am at his disposition at work. The press asked me if I would run for president and I just answered that I may ponder the possibility. This does not mean I have already taken a decision,” said Araoz.
She added that the government is working towards its goal of promoting social justice and reducing poverty through the provision of basic services.
