Peru celebrates Fiestas Patrias in Beijing, ChinaThe 189th Anniversary of the Independence of Peru was celebrated in Beijing, with a reception organized by the Peruvian Embassy.

The event was attended by the Peruvian Ambassador in China, Harold Forsyth, and China’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade, Li Jinjiang.

During his official speech, Forsyth emphasized the fact that Peru is likely to be the Latin American country with the highest presence of Chinese culture.

According to official figures, China is the second trade partner of Peru, while this is China’s seventh partner in Latin America.

"It is not a coincidence that Peru and China are about to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties,” said the Peruvian Ambassador, adding that both countries are currently in a process of strenghtening bilateral ties.
