Electronic commerce (e-commerce) in Peru closed 2009 with transactions totaling US $280 million, and may total US$500 million by the end of 2011, estimates Guillermo Rospigliosi, Manager of Business for Emergent Sectors for VISA.
Rospligliosi also thinks that the growing confidence of consumers in these systems, as well as the growing incorporation of business to these systems, are key factors leading more and more Peruvians to use e-commerce.
The executive said that there are currently four ways of paying via cell phones, and more than 1,000 business affiliated to this way of payment.
