Peru: Cajamarca food fair closed deals worth US$1.1 mlnAgriculture producers from 12 departments of the country closed deals worth 3 million soles (US$1.1 million) during the 1st Andean Food Fair Cajamarca 2010, which took place from August 27-29, the Ministry of Agriculture (Minag) reported Wednesday.

Coming mainly from Cajamarca, Lambayeque, La Libertad, Ancash, Lima, Junin, Ayacucho, Arequipa and Puno, producers showed the best of their offer such as native potatoes, coffee, and trout, dairy products, aromatic and medicine plants, liquors, fruits, and fresh vegetables.

Among the buyers were wholesale companies such as Sodexo, Hipermercados Tottus, Makro Supermayoristas, Mayorsa, and hotels such as Country Club, Sonesta El Olivar, Los Delfines, Sheraton, Swissotel, and Costa del Sol Cajamarca.

Restaurants El 550 Kriollo Gurmet, Costanera 700, La Huaca Pucllana, El Señorío de Sulco, Caplina, El Grifo, Nikko, El Sacha, Cusco Restaurantes (La Bomboniere) were also included among buyers, Minag reported.
