Peru’s new consumer protection law will be for all Peruvians, regardless of their social status, said President Alan García.
At the signing ceremony, the president said that this rule recently adopted by parliament guarantees the fundamental right of consumers to be informed before purchase a good or a service.
García pointed out that all local public or private services should have the so-called "book of complaints," in which customers can record poor service or any kind of abuse.
He also emphasized that thanks to this code, institutions that sell products or services, must provide detailed information to consumers about the total and real amount of money they have to pay.
