Peru allows entrance of British troops for joint exercise

The Peruvian parliament on Thursday approved the entrance to national territory of British troops aboard the Portland frigate of the United Kingdom’s Army.

The entrance of the British troops were approved with 56 votes in favor, 25 against and one abstention, according to the resolution issued by the parliament.

The British marines will perform joint naval exercise with the Peruvian Armed Forces, Xinhua reported, citing an Andina article.

The troop will be in Peru from Sept. 25 to 28 and it is a protocol entrance of Peruvian territory, which will not affect the national sovereignty, President of the National Defense Commission Wilder Calderon said.
