An long earthquake with a magnitude estimated in 5.9 Richter scale by the United States Geological Service rattled Ica and Lima at 3.01am (Local Time).
According to the USGS the epicenter was been located aproximately 13 km away from Chincha Alta, south of Lima, in the central coast, at 48.8km of depth.
The Peruvian Geophysics Institute reports a magnitude of 5.7 Richter, with the epicenter 39km away from Tambo de Mora, and a depth of 65km.
The shake was felt in Tambo de Mora with an intensity of IV in the Mercalli scale and III in Lima.
Radio reports inform that power has been cut in Chincha, and that cell phone service has collapsed.
