Four Peruvian bakers competing in South American CupThe four bakers who conform the Peruvian National Team of Bread are already in Las Vegas, US, where they will compete against bakers from Chile, Uruguay, Argentina and Brazil pursuing the Copa Sudamericana del Pan (South American Cup of Bread).

They are: Roger Aponte (Trujillo), Hector Urrunaga (Lima), Carlos Huarcaya (Lima) and Isaac Montoya (Lima), who have been sponsored by Alicorp and by the Peruvian Association of Bakery and Pastry.

If Peru wins, will also qualify for the Bread World Cup, to be held in in France in 2012, that reunites the best bakers worldwide.

The winner will be disclosed on Sept. 29, and the Peruvian representatives are competing in three categories: baguettes and specialty breads, cakes, and figures made of bread.
