The Peruvian volleyball players are all up for the challenge at FIVB Women’s World Championship 2010. Japan is the host of this campaign and it will greet 24 teams from around the world. The games start on Oct. 29 and action will continue up till Nov. 14, 2010.
Peru is grouped in Pool A along with teams from Algeria, Serbia, Poland, Japan and Costa Rica.
The Peruvian team, headed by team manager Juan Castro and coach Cheol Yong Kim, will open the championship by taking on Algeria on Oct. 28 Peru’s time (Oct. 29 Japan’s time). On Oct. 30 Peru will play Serbia and Japan and on Nov. 2 will face Poland and Costa Rica.
The second round of the tournament will bring together strong teams from pools A to D to form pools E and F, which will play in Tokyo and Nagoya respectively. The successful teams of second round will play in the third round, which will feature the “final four” matches and classification round for different positions. The semi-finals and gold-medal match of the FIVB Women’s World Championship will be played on Nov. 13-14 in Tokyo, Japan.
