Fifteen thousand people will dance tonight to the upbeat rhythms of Fatboy Slim, the leading big beat DJ in the world nowadays.

The gig will take place at the Estadio Monumental’s esplanade, located in the eastern side of Lima, at the end of Javier Prado Este Avenue.

The concert is  scheduled to start around 8:30 p.m.

Born to the name of Norman Quentin Cook, the English DJ, record producer and pioneer of the electronic dance genre arrived today to Lima.

It is not his first gig in Peru though. In 2004, Fatboy Slim came to Lima to DJ at a private party.

When locals fans learned Fatboy Slim was in the city, they searched for the house where he was playing and jumped the walls to watch their music idol.

Six years later, he’s back in town, this time to offer a super gig that holds a lot of expectation from his followers.

Cook was born and raised in England. When young he sang in bands but also put up Youth Club Hip Hop jams in the early eighties.

Fatboy Slim has achieved considerable success in the UK charts, performing with The Housemartins, Beats International and Freak Power.

He currently performs as the Brighton Port Authority.
