LAN Peru to invest $600 million renewing its fleet

LAN Peru started its operations in 1999.

LAN Peru will expand its fleet and will invest a total of 660 million in the purchase of six Airbus A 319 aircraft and two Boeing 767 aircraft, Jorge Vilchez, the company’s CEO reported today.

Vilchez said the Airbus A 319 aircraft will be used for domestic and regional flights, while the Boeing 767 will be used for long-range operations.

"This investment is part of the commitment we have made over the past 11 years in Peru, focusing on providing our passengers a quality service," he said.

With this investment, Lan Peru will increase its fleet from 19 to 25 Airbus A 319 and seven to nine Boeing 767 aircraft. By the end of 2011, LAN Peru will have invested more than $3 billion in the ongoing renewal of its aircraft fleet since it began operations in 1999.
