Taca Airlines announced new flights from Peru’s capital city of Lima to Trujillo, Tarapoto and Juliaca starting February 15. The routes will complement the company’s current flight from Lima to Cusco.

Yesterday the company also presented the new Embraer 190 aircrafts, to be used in the new Peru routes.

“We’re at the first stage of the implementation process of domestic routes in Peru and we seek to operate more domestic networks throughout the country in the short term,” said Roberto Kriete, chair of Avianca-Taca.

"We believe that we’ll see a second wave of domestic flights in the middle of the year,” Kriete said.

The Embraer 190 planes have a capacity of between 70 and 120 seats.
