Angel Añaños Jerí, president of AJE Group.

Peru’s multinational success story Ajegroup, producer of soft drinks, announced the start of operations at their plant located in Patalaganga, Maharashta (close to Mumbai) in India, with a production capacity of 40,000 bottles per hour.

The new plant will allow Ajegroup products to be sold in India’s two most industrialized states, Maharashta and Gujarat, in the western region of the country.

The company says that starting operations in India is part of its plan for international expansion, which also includes opening more plants in Vietnam and Indonesia, countries it has been operating in since April and August 2010, respectively.

With the new operations in India, Ajegroup will reach more than 1,600,000 new consumers, another step in its expansion plan to become one of the world’s main multinational companies by 2020.
