In a surprising business move, the Interbank group finalized the acquisition of the well known and successful Peruvian hamburger chain, Bembos, according to the Día 1 section of newspaper El Comercio.

The group headed by Carlos Rodríguez Pastor will purchase the 38 Bembos locations throughout Lima and Peru’s other main cities, as well as the successful branches abroad.

According to Día 1, Interbank made the deal nine days ago in a blind purchase, meaning that they reached an agreement with Bembos and left accounting details for future meetings, agreeing to pay between $30 and 40

The financial group already has a presence in much of the mass consumption sector, as it owns the group Supermercados Peruanos (including supermarket chains Plaza Vea, Vivanda and the new Economax), Oechsle, Cineplanet and the recently acquired Inkafarma. It is also an operator of the Real Plaza commercial centers.
