ONPE teaches illiterate how to vote

The ONPE- Oficina Nacional de Procesos
Electorales (Nacional Office of Electoral Processes) is in charge to capacitate
the illiterate about how to vote in the coming elections on April 9th. They are
responsible as well of teaching the quechua and aymara communities and the
natives in the jungle about the election process.
The methodology is based on pictures
and signs, no letters; the communicators will teach the whole procedure of voting and the
people who attend to the training will teach others as well.
There are around 2 million illiterate
people in
Peru. The budget used for this campaign is S/.20 millions, 10% of the
total amount assigned to the ONPE for the electoral process.
