8% of Peruvians will vote for the 1st time

The National Electoral Process Office (ONPE in Spanish)
stated that 1,326,925 citizens, who represent 8.04% of the total electorate,
will vote for the 1st time in the general elections this
Sunday. 
In a press release the ONPE indicated that Lima
is the department with the greatest number of new voters with 594,417 and the United
States
is the foreigner country where the
greatest number of new voters resides with 14,162. 
The total number of eligible voters for the upcoming
election is 16,494,906.
