Venezuela Seeks to Investigate Lourdes Flores

The political party of presidential candidate Lourdes Flores the (UN) energetically rejected a request from the ex-director of Intelligence of Venezuela to reopen an investigation into the activities that Lourdes Flores did in Venezuela in 2001.

The request, which members of the UN call “baseless” and “a fabrication of Chavez supporters”, seeks to look into the relationship between Lourdes Flores and Vladimiro Montesinos, the ex-advisor to Fujimori who was arrested in Venezuela in 2001.

For his part, presidential candidate Ollanta Humala, who has strong ties with Venezuela’s president, stated that he had nothing to do with this matter and urged Lourdes Flores to resolve any legal issue pertaining to her just as he will resolve his legal issues.
