García Leads by 14 Points


With 27 days remaining until the second round of voting, Alan García has increased his lead over Ollanta Humala to 14 points, 57% vs. 43% according to the latest national opinion poll conducted by Apoyo Opinión y Mercado. The poll showed that García is strongest in Lima and in Northern Peru while Humala continues to maintain his strong presence in the sierra, jungle, and Southern sections of Peru. The poll also indicated that 25% of the population remains undecided.

Regarding a debate between the candidates, over 90% of those surveyed believe that a debate should take place and the majority believe it should be held in Lima.
