Little by little the details for the debate between Alan García and Ollanta Humala are coming together. Yesterday, representative from both sides agreed that the moderator of the debate will be Augusto Álvarez Rodrich, director of the Peru 21 newspaper. They also agreed upon the five major topics of the debate: Government and human rights, political economy and the fight against poverty, anti-corruption policy, decentralization and citizen security.
The two major details that remain are a place and time. The University of San Marcos is a leading contender to host the debate and it is believed that both candidates would prefer a time in the evening to capture the greatest amount of viewers.
