Lima’s stock-market values closed with a slight loss Friday, dragged mainly by the mining actions and a related fall of international metal prices, operators said.
At 10,45 am local time (15.45 GMT), the general index ‘IGRA’, the market’s main indicator, lost 1.97 percent or
7,062, 27 points, after reaching its historical maximum on Thursday last week 7,763, 85 points.
Accordingly, the selective index ‘ISEL’ which groups together the 15 actions leaders, backed down by 2.39 percent to 11,850, 14 points.
The activities in the mining sector, especially those that have more weight in indices, fell in average by 2.4 percent.
Southern Copper Corp fell by 6.8 percent to 81.50 dollars and Green Hill closed with minus 4.44 percent to 6.45 dollars.
The prices of copper at the metal stock-market in London fell to 7,595 dollars per ton, a loss of 495 dollars compared to its previous closing. During the day the red metal fell to 7,550
dollars, or around 7 %.
In as much, the zinc quoted to 3,200 dollars the ton, 220 dollars less than the closing of Thursday.
