5000 expected to participate in ‘Walk The World Against Hunger’

‘Walk the World Against Hunger 2006’ is about to begin!

In more than 400 locations in
116 countries all over the globe, people will be gathering together to call for the end of child hunger and to raise the awareness of the international community.
The worldwide event will start in Auckland, New Zealand, moving from
time zone to time zone, and will reach Lima tomorrow,  – Sunday 21 of May at 10:00 a.m. –

5000 participants are expected here to do the long walk – led by the UN World Food Programme and organized by ‘Peru Runners’.

The list of participating celebrities includes Maju Mantilla (ex- Miss Peru),
Pedro Suárez-Vertiz (singer), sportsstars Ines Melchor
and George Forsyth, Father Gastón Garatea, among other distinguished
personalities.
The starting gun will go off at the Tourist Complex Malecón Giusti in Chorrillos and the roundtrip course includes the areas of Club Regatas and Malecón Grau.
