Peruvian businessmen take Jack Welch ? former American president of General Electric (GE) to court


A Peruvian judge has issued a detention order for Jack Welch and other 25 GE executives as Guillermo Gonzales, a Peruvian businessmen accuses GE for encouraging him to invest 10 million in construction of the buildings and factories to renew his contract.

Gonzales has stated that while he was retailer and had a contract with GE in Peru executives of the company encourage him back in 1998 to invest 10 million in their future “partnership”, which he then did, before his contract expired. Nevertheless, the contract was never renewed and now the court has to decide what really happened and was promised then.

Meanwhile GE defends themselves, saying that they didn’t renew the contract as Gonzales had debts with the company.
