According to an official press release from LAN, the Chile-based airline will offer the new service three times per week.
LAN currently offers 6 flights a week to the European market, with Madrid, Frankfurt, Guayaquil (Ecuador), Lima, and Santiago as its main hub cities for the transatlantic flight.
Additionally, the airline has two cargo shipping routes – Frankfurt/Madrid to Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Santiago to Miami.
According to the General Manager of LAN’s European affairs, Francisco Vidal, the airline expects to offer daily non-stop flights from the Spanish capital to the countries of Peru, Chile, Ecuador, Argentina, and Brazil by the end of 2008.
