(LIP-jl) — More than 320 different Peruvian companies will showcase their products to more than 600 importers from around the world in this year’s Peru Moda fair scheduled to be held April 25-27.
This will be the 10 edition of the annual export trade show organized by Peru’s Commission for Exportation Promotion (Propex in Spanish).
Prompex’s Director, Jose Ezeta, indicated that buyers and importers from the United States, Canada, Latin America, the European Union, Australia, South Africa and Asia will attend this year’s event to evaluate Peruvian confections, footwear, accessories, and jewelry.
"The fact that a buyer from South Africa has spent US$8,000 to come to Peru for three days tells you that this fair is important. I am positive this buyer is surely here to do business," affirmed Ezata.
Ezata added: "Exhibitors from Lima, Huancavelica, Cuzco, Arequipa, and Junin will be present at the show to showoff their quality products to demanding international buyers."
According to the Prompex, this year’s event is projected to generate exports totaling US$60 million, a US$7 million increase from last year’s reported exports.
Among the companies that will attend Peru Moda 2007 are: Calvin Klein, Kenzo, JC Penny, Jockey International, Palacia de Hierro, Polo/Ralph Lauren, Limited Brands, Tommy Hilfiger, and Victoria’s Secret.
