Sebastian Briozzo, representative of Standard & Poor?s agency (S&P) declared that the economic results are not enough to increase the country risk qualification and to receive further investments in the country. Some weeks ago President Toledo confirmed that Peru was receiving a positive qualification to attract more investments.
Briozzo believes that the external and fiscal vulnerability of our country, summed up with the weak political institutions, make a very bad combination for external investment in Peru.
Past July the agency?s report revealed that our risk qualification had improved, due to the positive economical and fiscal factors at the time. The last report is not so positive and once again puts Peru in a weak Institutional situation that can not be suppressed by the economical improvements. Briozzo explained that the Peruvian scenario counts with weak institutions, strong social demands, politic class discredit and a fragmented society in terms of economy, ethnics and also socially.
