National Geographic prepares a film about Machu Picchu that will be seen by at least 200 million people. The purpose of the film is to attract tourists which are interested in visiting archeological sites. Just in the US there will be 50 million people who will see the film and as most tourists who visit Peru are Americans – that’s fantastic.
The film will show Machu Picchu as well as the Inca Trail and other “mysterious places in the surroundings”. The budget for the film is USD15 millions, as of which Promperu (National Agency for Tourism) will give $ 1.000.000 over the next two years. The film is an EMAX type that can be shown at open air spaces as well as in movie theaters.
