48 hours of National transport strike

A national transport strike lasting 48 hours has been announced by the
unions of urban transportation, heavy loads, moto taxis and truck drivers as of midnight last night.

Despite a conflict between the sector representatives, most of the drivers,
with exception of the Urban Transport Association (Asetup) and the Owners Association of Inter province omnibuses of Perú (Apoip), are demanding a price reduction in the SOAT and the fuel prices.

Due to the strike, the Council of Lima announced that the Electric Train
will be working as a special service to the public today and tomorrow to
attend the transport demand from Villa El Salvador – Atocongo Station.
