More than 1 billion dollars get to Peru by contraband


Yesterday Juan Manuel Figueroa (APRA) from the Congress Sub Commission for the Fight against the Contraband and the Alternative Employment Generation, revealed that contraband works without any problems in Peru and that more than 1 billion dollars get into the country each year by our frontiers.

The Congress Sub–commission revealed that contraband is the worst activity after drug trafficking. The situation gets even worse due to the negligence of the authorities. This
activity affects seriously the national economy. The representative affirms that this illicit activity means a loss of 300-500 million dollars yearly for the public treasury, damaging seriously the national industry.
