The Peruvian Chancellor Maúrtua confirmed yesterday that the Lucchetti case has no influence in the diplomatic relations between Chile and Peru. He informed that this case is to be settled between the Peruvian justice system and the private Chilean company and without any use of the diplomatic system.
Maúrtua declared that the legal process that the Chilean business men of Lucchetti Andrónico Luksic, Fernando Pacheco y Gonzalo Menéndez are facing due to their relationship with Vladimiro Montesinos should not be handled by diplomacy and referred to the declarations from the Chilean government speaker, Osvaldo Puccio, who said that "diplomatic
arrangements are to start soon for this case".
Chancellor Maúrtua also confirmed that Peru has no other disputes regarding this case with their geographical neighbours.
