New Naval Authorities Take Office in Peru’s Navy

(LIP-ir) — New naval authorities took office in a ceremony chaired yesterday by the General Commander of Peru’s Navy, Admiral Carlos Gamarra Elías.

At Peru’s Naval Academy, Vice Admiral Rolando Navarrete Salomón was introduced as the Navy’s new Chief of the General Staff. On board the Admiral Grau flagship, Vice Admiral Alberto Lozada Frías took office as the General Commander of Operations.

At Callao’s Naval Base, Jorge de la Puente Ribeyro, recently promoted Vice Admiral, took office as the Navy’s General Inspector.

This Saturday, the General Commander for Peru’s Navy will travel to naval headquarters in Iquitos to introduce the General Commander of Operations in the Amazon region, Vice Admiral José Cueto Aservi.

It was also reported that Rear Admiral Fergan Herrera Cuntti took office as the new Director of the Port Authority (DICAPI) and that Rear Admiral Carlos Weston Zanelli took office as General Director of Staff. Carlos Chanduvi Salazar took office as the General Director of Materials.
