Machu Picchu Sanctuary beat the Egyptian pyramids in the today’s must-see sights

The Egyptian pyramids, last survivor of the ancient “seven wonders of the world”, could only make it into eighth place in a survey of today’s must-see sights made by the travel magazine Wanderlust.
Readers of travel magazine Wanderlust voted Angkor in Cambodia into second place, ahead of India’s Taj Mahal and Jordan’s ancient city of Petra. The last three places in the new seven wonders list were the Grand Canyon in Arizona, the Great Wall of China and the Galapagos Islands off Ecuador.
Wanderlust’s Lyn Hughes said: "They truly represent the most amazing travel experiences on the planet”.
