The embassy of Japan in Lima informed that the government of his country is not evaluating the possibility of asking for the repatriation of Alberto Fujimori, who is in prison in Chile as of last Monday. Tokyo also announced that, considering the Japanese nationality that Fujimori has, they will proceed taking the corresponding measures when a Japanese citizen is stopped abroad.

Through a press note, the embassy of Japan in Peru confirmed that Tokyo is having contact with the government of Chile.
