The leader of the Partido Nacionalista Peruano party, Ollanta Humala, asked
the Jurado Nacional de Elecciones JNE (National Jury of Elections) to add his party for the 2006 presidential elections.
Humala gave JNE thirteen boxes containing the lists with signatures, which must reach no less 130,000 before January 9th to accomplish the inscription of his party.
Humala stated to the press that his popularity in the last surveys increased due to the good work his party does in the provinces of the country, but he also recognized that he needs to work more in the north of Peru and Lima to reach his goal.
About Alberto Fujimori, Humala said that he must assume his political responsibility before thinking about postulating to a political issue.
