More than 400 cultural items were stolen in the last three years

The director of INC (National Institute of Culture), Maria Elena Córdova, informed that in the last three years at least 418 cultural articles have been robbed from churches and archaeological sites around the country.

She also said that it is necessary to improve the security of the cultural patrimony to stop more robberies of archaeological objects.

But not everything is bad news. María Elena Córdova also mentioned that in collaboration with the customs office more than 1808 cultural patrimony articles were recovered this year.
