Lawyer fears that Fujimori will run away

The Chilean lawyer Alfredo Etcheberry, who represents Peru’s government in the extradition process of Fujimori, admitted his fears about former Peruvian president Alberto Fujimori and the fact that he might have an escape plan. Fujimori is now in custody in Chile and is waiting for Peru to send an official extradition order to Chile before Christmas.

"I have serious preoccupation that Fujimori can escape from Chile", said Etcheberry. His fears, he explained, are based on the "cleverness and talent" that Fujimori has demonstrated when he managed to, unnoticed, leave Japan, pass by the U.S and Mexico, fly over Peruvian territory and arrive to Chile.
