Surco celebrates 79th anniversary with Christmas show

In celebration of its 79th anniversary, the municipality of Surco is gearing up for some holiday cheer with their Christmas bash tonight at the Plaza Mayor. Live entertainment will be present featuring some celebrities such as former Latin American Idol contestant Nicole Pillman, Rossi War, Amanda Portales, William Luna and Antonio Cartagena.

Celebrities will reenact the nativity scene for the public at the Plaza Mayor.

Mayor of Surco, Juan Manuel del Mar, announced that tonight’s event will honor local celebrities who have made significant contributions to the district like ballet director Lucy Telge, Yolanda Mayo from the Ann Sullivan Center and business leader Raúl Modenesi, who has invested in successful projects such as the Costa Verde restaurant.

Tonight’s celebration will begin at 7:00 p.m. honoring the 79th anniversary of Surco and end with the grand finale, “Christmas in Surco” where the stars are scheduled to perform. This year’s festivities will be under the direction of Mónica de Osma, Úrsula Lu and Gigi Muelle.

Latin American Idol ex-finalist Nicole Pillman will sing the English version of “Hark the Herald Angels Sing” and will then join Ronny Zuzunaga with “Jingle Bells.”

“Christmas in Surco” and all other associated events will be open to the public for free.
