A program called Norexport will train Cusco-based textile artisans in technical standards for their production processes so they can enter new domestic and foreign markets.

The goal is to show Andean artisans and craftmen how to implement technical standards so that their products meet local and international quality standards.

"The program includes a workshop entitled Management, implementation and monitoring of textile product technical standards in loom," said Marco Marroquin, head of the National Institute for the Defense of Competition and Protection of Intellectual Property (Indecopi) in Cusco.

The Norexport program, promoted by Indecopi, is supported by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF).
